Waterproof Casting
At Thirroul Physiotherapy we can apply waterproof upper and lower limb casts that will stabilise your joint and allow your fracture to heal.
Waterproof casts are made of a lightweight, comfortable, durable fibre glass material that is allowed to get wet and does not lose any of its rigid stabilising properties.
This means that over the period of time that is required to allow your fractured bone to heal you will be able to shower with ease and can immerse the cast in water for activities such a swimming.
Fibre Glass casts can be easily applied in an appointment and take approximately 15mins to set.
When your fracture is healed we will remove the cast in the clinic and start your rehabilitation.
Are friendly staff are also skilled in creating Thermoplastic splints which are alternatively used for fractures and ligament injuries to the wrist, hand and fingers.
