What is an Exercise Physiologist?
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities (Resource: ESSA).
AEP’s complete 4 years of University Training, engage in annual ongoing professional development and are regulated by a governing body to ensure quality healthcare is provided.
Exercise physiologists provide treatment to a range of health conditions through provision of therapeutic exercise programs, education, lifestyle and behaviour modification along with regular health checks such as blood pressure.

Through functional assessments and the provision of an individualised training we are able to assist athletes of all sporting backgrounds to achieve their fitness goals.
Coverage
As per our Physiotherapy treatment, our Exercise Physiology sessions are provided to patients under the following services:

You don’t need a referral from your GP to consult an AEP however, speak with your doctor regarding your eligibility for a Medicare care plan if you do have a chronic health condition.
